About this deal

The Pikes years then, were Tony settling down and reigning it in a bit, which is pretty hilarious when you consider that he was still tearing the absolute arse out of it in the VIP room at the back of Ku well into his 60's. Just stories of how many women wanted him, how much dirty money he made, cheating on his wife, dodgy deals, meeting George Michael.

The constant references to birds, knockers, good sorts and shagging his mates girlfriends could be a little bit wearing for some, especially in the current climate as an attempt is quite rightly being made to clear out the casual and not so casual sexism that has plagued society since ever.Although ive heard that this book is a bit of "Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story" its still a great read and if youve ever been to Pikes or know the history of the place its well worth a read . most people live for their children, he lived for that next piece of ass which really is pretty sad. On the 3rd of December London’s club scene comes together for ‘Dance For Drama’, an event to drive the fundraiser to raise 60K for Victoria to get some pioneering, life-changing, stem cell treatment in a state of the art clinic in Mexico. This resulted in seeing his little finca go ballistic when it was used as the backdrop for Wham’s 'Club Tropicana' video and became the blueprint for the boutique hotel explosion that Studio 54’s Ian Schrager gets the credit for.

Having visited Pikes Hotel since reading the book, I don't think he undersells it at all and from the book you can understand why the island has the reputation it does. Despite being written in a somewhat clunky, basic way, and being peppered with crude references told in Tony’s own words, this book is endlessly intriguing. Escaping to Australia and using his abundant charms to build connections, businesses and attract an endless stream of women, Tony’s hedonistic shenanigans eventually led him to Ibiza where he bought a 500 year old wreck of a finca which became the infamous Pikes hotel. It was a real page turner and I would recommend it to anyone including people that are not fans of Ibiza. This all happened amidst being Grace Jones' consort for a year or so, dancing around like a muppet on stage just outwith her spotlight, completely invisible to the audience. Grace Jones is left to contradict his version of events without him getting pissy or argumentative about it. Tony looks back on the extreme highs and lows of an unparalleled life, goes exclusively behind the scenes of the Club Tropicana video shoot which put his unique hotel on the map and discusses his relationships with guests/friends including George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Julio Iglesias and lover Grace Jones.
