About this deal

Even the most reluctant learner will be astonished at the ease and effeciveness of Margarita Madrigals unique method of teaching a foreign language. The very first lesson will prove to you that you can create at least one hundred times more material than you could possibly memorize in the same given time. When you study this method you will find that you will not only have the ability to recognize words, but that it will actually be within your power to convert English words into Spanish words. Everything that is introduced is followed by more than ample opportunity to practice: there are sentences to read and word/phrase combination drills to perform. But it is really exciting to discover that with a few hints you yourself can form these words and that you can start out on your venture of learning Spanish with a large, ready-made vocabulary.

Even the most reluctant learner will be astonished at the ease and effeciveness of Margarita Madrigal’s unique method of teaching a foreign language. From the time man first began to learn foreign tongues down to the present time, language methods have relied on memory and not on the pupil's powers of creation. Some went more slowly than others, but in the end every student learned more Spanish for every hour that he spent with the book than he had thought possible in his fondest dreams.

I wasn’t going to give up because I had hopes that if I mentioned the problem in a review, the author would adjust the formatting and I could purchase it for my iOS devices. He was equally well known in the late sixties and early seventies as resident host at his studio, The Factory, where one could listen to Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground and rub elbows with Edie Sedgwick. In this book I'm going to show you how easy it is to learn Spanish by showing you how much you already know. I wish the Magic Key to French and German were still in print as I have made substanital progress with my Spanish using this book, the method obviously works.

Conjugations are introduced slowly, so the learner is not faced with table after table of conjugations in all forms. If you listen to Michel Thomas first Total Spanish with the Michel Thomas Method (Michel Thomas Series) , then read Magic Key as you will be able to pronounce all of the words, afterwards get Sandberg's 'Spanish For Reading' Spanish for Reading you will be very effective in Spanish and save a fortune on the ineffective materials out there. If it has got a downside it would be the layout, which is now dated (it was written in the early 1950's with Andy Warhol as the illustrator).

Develop perfect pronunciation, thanks to a handy pronunciation keyWith original black and white illustration by Andy Warhol, Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish will provide readers with a solid foundation upon with to build their language skills. At this moment you know several thousand Spanish words even if you have never seen or heard a Spanish word before. I’m the kind of learner that needs to know the why behind the action/words and this book is amazing when it comes to that. Some reviewers have pointed to the South American bias of this book as being a problem for anyone wishing to speak Spanish in mainland Spain but I have found no such issues in the dozen or so times that I have visited Spain. Andy Warhol, a painter and graphic artist, also produced a significant body of film work, including his famous Chelsea Girls. It starts with a very positive introduction and goes on to explain that an English speaker already knows hundreds if not thousands of words in Spanish and it gives you the rules that unlock this 'magic key' to Spanish.

One reviewer has said that the book is too long but I would temper that view with the knowledge that the increase in volume is actually due to these many examples of usage and word/phrase combination drills. Furthermore, the process of creation is exciting, whereas mechanical memorizing is tremendously boring. In fact, the learner is introduced to the singular forms of only the first person and third person for a good portion of the book. Even the most reluctant learner will be astonished at the ease and effeciveness of Margarita Madrigal's unique method of teaching a foreign language. Thousands of questions that have been asked by former students have made it possible for me to anticipate your questions and to answer them.

After all, we didn't learn English by learning grammar first, we learnt it by identifying patterns and then, when we were at school, we learnt grammatical terms and nuances. And let's not forget that the vast majority of people will try hard to understand a foreigner that tries to use their language - and never underestimate the power of always using "please" and "thankyou" and, indeed, pointing and saying the appropriate numbers with a hopeful smile :-D … We even have significant differences British English: I was brought up in southern England and have worked in Sheffield recently and whilst I would “make a brew”, they will “mash”, I will feel “cold” but they will be “nesh”, something might be “dirty” but to them it will be “mardy” … Differences are easily overcome with very little effort and, really, should just add to our enjoyment of the vibrant nature of language.
