About this deal

With intricate details spanning its length, the LEGO Emerald Night stands as a testament to the grandeur of vintage trains.

It was employed on long-distance express East Coast Main Line trains by the LNER and its successors, British Railways Eastern and North-Eastern Regions, notably on the London to Edinburgh Flying Scotsman train service after which it was named. Also the door is not very sturdy as it is only held together by one stud on the outer edge of the coach car. Additionally, you can tell the windows don’t exactly line up and the slight gap causes them to bow in a bit.

If you look closely, there is a small gap by the window on the door as I couldn’t get that design perfect so it doesn’t look as smooth. I fully agree on what M_slug said before: It appears as you have the building instructions - make your own Emerald Night! Despite the flaws in design that I have pointed out, I think the train looks much better with multiple coaches and a caboose. The Emerald Night steam train is arguably the most classic and best-designed product in the Lego train series.I have three EN's, two in original livery and the third is in 'baureihe' colors (red details and totally black). Unlike the Lego kit, we’ve created separate coach compartments and three sets of Emerald Nights that are comparable yet distinct. Light yellow and brown make up the majority of the color scheme, which appears harmonious and vibrant. I think that this train is possibly the best LEGO train set that has ever been made, which is why I want this one in particular. From the steam locomotive with its blazing furnace to the ornate dining car, every aspect has been lovingly recreated.

Similar to the A2, the tender features two ladders leading to the roof at the back and a shovel in the front. A small smoke plate is attached to each side of the front, and three little smoke outlets are attached to the top for a realistic smoke effect.

The train is a perennial subject in the modeling world, full of power and mechanical sense of modeling, and a vivid recollection of an era. From the steam locomotive with furnace to the opening tender and dining car with removable roof, opening doors, and detailed interior, this classic-styled train is designed with a ton of stunning details. As Christmas trees are a popular place for toys to be found, Ask Toy Tech offers a brief history and pictures of the Christmas ornament tradition.

I'm not a purist as I only got into Lego trains about 3 months ago however being a railfan and a railroader, it doesn't matter to me if it's pure Lego or not. Anyway, I think the other reviewers here have covered all the specific technical details in sufficient detail. The Flying Scotsman travels on the East Coast Main Line, which was built in the 19th century by a number of minor railway companies. Brickset, the Brickset logo and all content not covered by The LEGO Group's copyright is, unless otherwise stated, ©1997-2024 Brickset ltd.

Nowadays, the connotation of the train has already transcended just being a mode of transportation and has grown to symbolize a variety of cultural conceptions as well as spiritual nourishment. As mike_ribeiro just pointed out, if you can't find the train wheels, Big Ben Bricks makes some great after market wheels that would work quite well on an EN replica. The LEGO Emerald Night is a box set that presents not only the children, but also the adult fans and collectors, with an opportunity to entertain and be entertained. However I would use this topic only for inspiration since bumping such an old thread is not always aprecciated. This original special edition model was launched in 2009 and is regarded by many as one of the most iconic LEGO trains ever created.
