About this deal

One group, led by Itch and Lucy decide to track down the water source responsible for the increasing poison in the bay. The story is enlivened by another of Itch's purchases, antique wallpaper containing arsenic, which provokes a delightfully disgusting scene involving lots of vomiting when his class visits the school greenhouse. Mayo balances the high-stakes plot and serious reality of radiation poisoning with an underlying absurdity, particularly the over-the-top nastiness of Flowerdew and his compatriots.

Loved both books and I highly recommend them but do be advised that both can be a little gory and violent, at times, so there are difficult moments if you have a weak stomach. Like many kids, he's a collector-magpie, but football stickers and manga-style cards aren't his thing. There are crazy science teachers, international criminals and MI5 all trying to relieve him of his strange bit of rock. It didn't bother me that eventually the characters end up in that same spot because the rest of the story is quite different. For Itch, who collects elements from the periodic table (calcium from a seashell, fluorine from a Teflon frying pan, etc.

Redeemed Reader is the site I recommend most often to other parents or educators for great book reviews and articles. When Flowerdew threatens to throw Jack into a deep mining well Tim tackles him, throwing them both into the mine well in the process but rescuing Jack. Itch sinks the rock in the deepest mine where no one will find it before falling unconscious from radiation poisoning. Shy, cool-headed Amber has just been chosen to be a spy by a mysterious agency - and before long she's sent to foil an evil cybercrime plot! In addition to Itch, we also meet his younger sister, Chloe, and his cousin, Jack (Jacqueline), who is the same age as he is.By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. Itch's mum is far more understanding than many, and there aren't many hobbies that can make people so very sick.

If that weren't enough Greencorp has sent the lady in black to stop them, but Roshanna may have something to say about that. There was just a cool spy vibe to those portions of the book and when, eventually, things start to go haywire and blow up (literally), when even MI5 isn't able to stop the bad guys, the story becomes truly exciting. His previous books include the Sunday Times bestseller Knife Edge , Mad Blood Stirring , Blame and the Itch trilogy, filmed for TV by the ABC. Before he can find a means to do so he is forced to attend a school concert where he sister Chloe is playing.I was surprised that a kid -- yes, even Itch -- could drag around a canister of xenon in his rucksack along with all the other items he carried. Solid nuggets of fact are folded not-too-obtrusively into a standard thriller plot with serviceable if not outstanding characters and more vomiting in a single volume than I’ve ever seen. Everyone's worst fear has happened- Flowerdew has stolen the rock and left Itch and his friends stranded in a city they are unfamiliar with. Despite the start of the story being quite slow as characters were introduced, once the plot was underway the action began with Itch, Jack and a helpful Professor of Geography battling the evil Dr Flowerdew and Greencorps Power Company.

His latest acquisition is a mysterious rock which, when tested, shows startlingly high radiation levels. Highly recommended - A rocking fine follow-up to the original novel, Itch, with every bit as much action and adventure but fewer disgusting scenes. It's hard to figure out what books are good choices for our kids when we're too far away to hear about them from others or to check them out of the library. After Tim and Itch abandon the bus because they think the government is the mysterious men in black, they must learn how to survive the Australian Outback with limited supplies. Itchingham Lofte, teenage element hunter and unlikely hero, has had enough excitement to last him a lifetime.

The book is readable and the characters have their own personalities which leads to involvement in the plot and a curiosity to find what happens next. Two boys and a haggard mother (me) have read Itch hereabouts, and we all report hurrying to turn the page.
