About this deal

Over a quarter of a million copies sold in the UK alone, this best-selling series is a staple in homes and schools. Children have big imaginations, a characteristic beautifully captured by author Caryl Hart in her bestselling Albie books. I was obsessed with Ancient Egypt, and who doesn't love a story that features secret passageways and includes a map? Scroll down to discover Caryl Hart’s five facts about aliens and find out how you could win a copy of your own. Albie meets differing versions of himself; in one world, there’s a malevolent Albie, and in another he’s herself not himself.

When you look at history in this way, you realise that the people from thousands of years ago were really just like us. We take pride in offering a wide selection of used books, from classics to hidden gems, ensuring there is something for every literary palate. A “Jolly Roger” refers to the flag with the skull and crossbones which flies at the top of their ship’s mast – if you saw this flag you’d know the pirates were coming! We loved her introduction to the planets in the space-spanning adventure, Meet the Planets and we adored discovering what happens When a Dragon goes to School .

Emma Perry is a children's book author, a teacher, the founder of MyBookCorner and organiser of International Book Giving Day. Playfully anarchic and packed with silliness, these rhyming books about manners and getting dressed have become firm household favourites! With a diverse range of characters, familiar scenes and emotions, and lots of details to spot, both you and your little people will quickly fall in love with these charming stories. She spends her spare time digging her allotment and organizing community projects, and going for long walks, especially if they end up at a café. With superb illustrations from Leigh Hodgkinson, award-winning creator of CBeebies’ Olobob Top, the Kate and Fred stories delight readers young and old! Here, at the Imagining History homestead, the stories of children's author Caryl Hart are a mega-hit. She insists I refer to Wolfboy as "Wolfgirl", even though she can read the title and knows what it really says.

Ed and I seem to have a kind of telepathy when it comes to creating these stories, so I’m always delighted, but never surprised when I see his illustrations for the first time! How to Track a Sabre Toothed Tiger is the 11th book in this series of exciting adventure stories for young children and it seems that Albie has become a bit of a household name. Albie is playing in his sandpit when "a ferocious wind begins to blow" and he is suddenly transported to Ancient Egypt. All of this is very deftly handled by Christopher Edge with a light comic touch, everything rooted in a Year 6 environment, Quantum Banana Theory and all. The great thing about the Albie stories is that they all follow a similar pattern, so once you've read a few, you can have a go at writing your own!

Lots of people claim to have seen aliens but scientists tell us there is no proof that this is true. Albie is a six year old boy whose imagination turns his surroundings into wild fantasy and he sees peculiar creatures everywhere. It’s a huge honour to have contributed to family storytime and I’m thrilled that the books have entertained so many children. The hunt for Claw continues, as does the readers hunt for all the special items set out on the first page.As parents ourselves, we have always tried to do this for our own children and definitely used imaginative play to help make everyday activities exciting.
